On summer vacation of this year, I studied in novel " old man and sea " of Hemingway , famous writer of U.S.A. ,. I admire the old fisherman's will in the novel very much, he lets me understand that a person must have unremitting spirit, could succeed .

Man is not made for defeat,a man can be destroyed but he can not be defeated. Gently closing the book "the old man and the sea",I can't help thinking . In real life, encountering difficulty is unavoidable, the most important is to confront and have perseverance so that we can learn from failure.

Because our teacher demand us finish the movie review.—— Foreword

In fact ,I have seen this movie before class.I frist met it when I was a senior middle school student. But I have get more impressions then before.

In the movie, the leading role of The Pursuit Of Happyiness,Jefferson's Declaration of independence words about happyiness kept recurring to Chris Gardner.Chris hardly work from everyday morning to night, but still couldn't make a charge. At last, his wife can't endured and left away, just leaving him and their five-year-old son. That is to say,Chris become a single father.

Even worse is,Chris no money to pay for the rent. And he was failed with his career. They become homeless. They slept in anywhere. But Chris never gave up,just for his son and his belief. He still strongly believed that happyiness would come one day if he worked hard enough.

At last of the film,Chris was succeed. But everyone know that too diffcult and hardly.

I think everyone know this is a inspired story. And I'm moved. But in this movie, the most impress me are two things about Chris's love to his son and his strong faith towards life. After that,I learn one thing that if a person has a strong faith in himself, nothing will impossible.

英文读后感 篇5

How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness。 I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty。 Although I don't think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded。

For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person。 Goodness is to humans what water is to fish。 He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person。 On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose', he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person。 People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself。

To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity。 They look down on people's honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted。 As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others。 On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit。 In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility。 If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness', they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down。 They are one of the sorts that I really detest。

Francis Bacon said in his essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin。'

That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything。 Therefore, I, a kind person, want to tell those 'vermin-to-be' to learn from the kind Oliver and regain the nature of goodness。

英文读后感 篇6

MISS AUSTEN never attempts to describe a scene or a class of society with which she was not herself thoroughly acquainted. The conversations of ladies with ladies, or of ladies and gentlemen together, are given, but no instance occurs of a scene in which men only are present. The uniform quality of her work is one most remarkable point to be observed in it. Let a volume be opened at any place: there is the same good English, the same refined style, the same simplicity and truth. There is never any deviation into the unnatural or exaggerated; and how worthy of all love and respect is the finely disciplined genius which rejects the forcible but transient modes of stimulating interest which can so easily be employed when desired, and which knows how to trust to the never-failing principles of human nature! This very trust has sometimes been made an objection to Miss Austen, and she has been accused of writing dull stories about ordinary people. But her supposed ordinary people are really not such very ordinary people. Let anyone who is inclined to criticise on this score endeavor to construct one character from among the ordinary people of his own acquaintance that shall be capable of interesting any reader for ten minutes. It will then be found how great has been the discrimination of Miss Austen in the selection of her characters, and how skillful is her treatment in the management of them. It is true that the events are for the most part those of daily life, and the feelings are those connected with the usual joys and griefs of familiar existence; but these are the very events and feelings upon which the happiness or misery of most of us depends; and the field which embraces them, to the exclusion of the wonderful, the sentimental, and the historical, is surely large enough, as it certainly admits of the most profitable cultivation.

In the end, too, the novel of daily real life is that of which we are least apt to weary: a round of fancy balls would tire the most vigorous admirers of variety in costume, and the return to plain clothes would be hailed with greater delight than their occasional relinquishment ever gives. Miss Austen's personages are always in plain clothes, but no two suits are alike: all are worn with their appropriate differen AS we should expect from such a life, Jane Austen's view of the world is genial, kindly, and, we repeat, free from anything like cynicism. It is that of a clear-sighted and somewhat satirical onlooker, loving what deserves love, and amusing herself with the foibles, the self-deceptions, the affectations of humanity. Refined almost to fastidiousness, she is hard upon vulgarity; not, however, on good-natured vulgarity, such as that of Mrs. Jennings in "Sense and Sensibility," but on vulgarity like that of Miss Steele, in the same novel, combined at once with effrontery and with meanness of soul.

“Pride and Prejudice ", a novel a pleasure to behold, a beautiful and moving story.

The article describes a number of daughters Bo Nate story. Ji-an eldest daughter, gentle kind-hearted, beautiful Keren, Bentley and rich kids at first sight, but at the crucial moment has brought a twist. Second daughter, Elizabeth, Qingli intelligent, ambitious, assertive, consistent with the property of the nobility million youth met Darcy. Can be as arrogant Darcy eccentric, Elizabeth for his prejudice are serious, they love but refuse to recognize the obvious, but also continue to hurt each other with words, but fortunately dispelled the last mistake, married lovers.

Reading this novel, I have benefited greatly. In our people, there are many very modest, but there are some arrogant people. These arrogant people who sometimes annoying, they have eyes in the head long, others are dismissive. Indeed, the arrogance is a shortcoming in the environment to develop a character. Chinese children from an early age by their parents as holding typical "little emperors." If so has been from small to large, how could it not arrogant? So I think that we should not be arrogant people who have prejudices, but the more soul-searching myself, to see if they have not arrogant, after their own things to learn to no longer allow parents to worry about, tired.

As the book said: "Heart of pride in everyone. As long as we have so a little bit of strength, they will feel especially great. But pride and vanity while the same meaning, but in real terms in different kinds of self-pride is a feeling,Vanity will need to involve other people overestimate their own, so people have a pride without vanity, which is justifiable.

英文读后感 篇8

I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. It’s pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the he-ro-in-e,though I didn’t think she’s beautiful. But she’s smart. However, I didn’t pay much attention to the plot. I thought it’s so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I haven’t read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice. In fact, I didn’t understand the story at that time. I didn’t know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didn’t find where’ s the prejudice. I thought it’s normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. I’m a prejudiced person so I can’t find where’s wrong.

I merely like to do the things I like. Everytime I meet somebody or something,my thinking about he or it all depends on my foregone experience and my mood of the time.

英文读后感 篇9

This year summer vacation, I read the American well-known writer Hemingway's novel " old person and sea ". I extremely admire in the novel the senior fisherman's will, he let me understand one person certainly must have relentless spirit, only then could obtain successfully.

The novel description is one year near sixty years of age senior fisherman, when alone goes to sea in one fishing, fished one big fish, actually did not pull. The senior fisherman socialized several days after the fish, only then discovered this was the big marlin which one surpassed the oneself fishing boat several fold, although knew perfectly well very difficult to win, but still did not give up. Afterwards and further because in the big marlin wound fish fishy smell brought in several crowds of shark fish snatches the food, but the old person still did not hope like this to give up, finally highlighted encircles tightly, returned to the big fish belt the fishing port, lets other fishermen not admire already.

When I read " the senior fisherman think: Here to the seacoast really was too near, perhaps could have a bigger fish in a farther place… " When, I extremely admire this senior fisherman, because he by now already projected on some fish, but he had not settled to the present situation, but was approaches the bigger goal advance. Again has a look us, usually meets one slightly is difficult, we all complain incessantly. We will be the motherland future, will be supposed to like this old person same mind lofty aspiration, will even better pursue even better, the bigger goal.

When I read " the big marlin start fast to gather round the young fishing boat hover, twined the cable on the mast, the old person right hand lifted up high the steel fork, leapt the water surface in it the flash, did utmost throws to its heart, one wail ended the big fish's life, it was static static floats on the water surface… " When, my heart also liked together the big stone falls. I extremely admire old person that kind do not dread, the relentless spirit, although knows the match strength is very strong, but he not slightly flinches, but is welcomes difficultly above. Just because had this kind of spirit, the senior fisherman only then achieved this life and death contest success. We also must study senior fisherman's spirit in life, handles the matter does not fear the difficulty, only then can obtain successfully.

英文读后感 篇10

Santiago, an old man about sixty years old, fished alone with nothing caught in eighty four days. No one would like to talk to him for his extremely bad luck except a boy who always came to help after the day and finally left to another boat under the pressure of his parents. Ignoring the contempt from the younger fishermen and sympathy from the older, on the morning of the 85th day, the old man started his fishing with determination and rowed his old boat very far in the sea where he believed there would be big fish. Fortunately the old man met with a big fish as he had wished and finally defeated the big Marlin with two days and nights struggle after overcoming great difficulties. But more unfortunately there were many sharks coming after his boat attracted by the smell of the blood of the big Marlin. After death-and-life struggle, when he finally got rid of the sharks coming after the boat, the big Marlin was bare skeleton.

The Old Man and the Sea tells a frustrated experience of the old man who fishes alone in the sea in plain languages. Through the simple lines, a “tough guy” image is shaped and heroism is praised. The whole story starts with a peaceful beginning which is some trivial of life and talking with the boy, and suddenly turns to its climax which is the dangerous fighting with the big fish and sharks alone in the sea, and ends with the old man’s return with the bare skeleton of the big Marlin. Though the boy only appears at the beginning and the ending in the novel, he plays an indispensible role, it is his inspiring and supporting that helps the old man to be “graceful under heavy pressure”.

In the book, the old man prepared his fishing properly and preciously than any other fishermen so that “Then when luck comes you are ready” as the old man thought to himself. In reality, some of us keep complaining that they are born in wrong time or good luck never knocks their doors. In fact, good luck sometimes just comes when they are not ready. Taking Newton for example, if he had not acquired a lot, millions of apples could never make him discovery the gravity. So if we just keep studying as much as we can, good luck will finally find us and a bright future is ahead of us. The old man never gives up hope. When all of people think he is doomed, he still strongly believes that he will get a big fish. And he does. So never giving up hope is very important to us. This reminded me of the sentence in Churchill’s speech “Never give up, never, never, never…”. “But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated” has always been inspiring me when I counter with some setbacks in my life. Setbacks are inevitable in pursuit of our goals, but we should never be frustrated and should be “graceful under heavy pressure” like the old man. It is his relentless pursuit that contributes to the victory.

英文读后感 篇11

To be honest, I"ve never seen anyone like Forrest Gump in a movie before.Forrest Gump who is unfortunately to be born with a lower IQ and the muscle problem, usually, people always think this kind of person can"t be successful in doing anything. But, instead, this unlucky man has achieved lots of incredible success, he is a football star, a war hero, and later a millionaire!

Forrest Gump not only shares his innocence and purity with others, ,he also manages to retain that innocence through some very difficult times. I love Forrest that he doesn"t lose his purity through the movie, or maybe he just can"t ,but either way, this shows us don"t need to be evil or really intelligent to be recognised or successful.

It is just a movie, so maybe it doesn"t work like that in reality.A simply means is that the acting and story of this film got a high level like the real . And in my definition that"s what a good movie should be able to do.

英文读后感 篇12

Jane Eyre gives me much useful inspiration after reading it. I respect Jane Eyre’s independence and I am most impressed by the true love between jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester who was a poor blind man, twenty years older than her.

Jane Eyre never felt herself inferior as a tutor before Mr. Rochester and gained an equal status. She had lofty sentiments and was pure in mind. She had not been contaminated by common customs, so Mr.Rochester was attracted by her independent personality and falling love with her.

In the story, Jane Eyre dismissed the chaise and driver with the double remuneration, which reflected her determination to come back to Mr. Rochester. She did not know whether Mr. Rochester was really there, but she still groped about in the twilight and came to the desolate house. She missed him that much. She only hoped that Mr Rochester let her live with him even if she found Mr Rochester blind and mutilated.

Mr rochester became extremely excited when he heard and felt his beloved Jane was still living. He suggested that Jane marry one of the other young men because he thought himself as a sightless block. But he also showed his jealousy when Jane talked about St. John’s proposing marriage. All in all, Mr. Rochester was always loving Jane deeply.

Mr. Rochester once exclaimedJane,Jane!Janeand Jane heared Rochester’s voice calling to her. Her voice replied,I am coming. Wait for me I think these are the call of love and the answer of love.

Later on, after their marriage, Mr.Rochester miraculously regained his sight and lived happily with Jane.

Personally, love can fasten the hearts of lovers tightly. Love is beyond time and space and the miracle of love can lead prayers to become reality.

英文读后感 篇13

Jane. Love living in a parents, sponsor, grew up under the environment of treatment with peers, aunt abandon, cousin contempt, cousin insults and beating of a child… this is the dignity of the ruthletrample, but perhaps because it all, Jane. Love and faith of infinite indomitable spirit, a kind of inner personality can win.

In rochester, she never because he is a teacher and the family status meanness, but that they feel inferior is equal. Should not because she is a servant, but not respected by others. Also because of her integrity, noble and pure heart, no pollution, secular society for the shock, and rochester her as a spiritual and equality in the conversation, and slowly and deeply in love with her.

Jane eyre itself to us is a kind of simplified, is a fanpiaoguizhen, is a kind of pursuit of whole heart feeling, is a kind of simplified feelings and neglected, it is like a cup of water, purify every reader's heart, also cause readers, especially female readers.
